Eagle's Nest Christian School is situated on the Cape Flats (sand dune area) in an informal settlement of extremely poor people. Initially the school catered for pre-school age students, but due to increasing pressure and demand for good education, the school increased the grade offerings in recent years. Due to the harsh and dangerous conditions in the area, the school consists of a few portable buildings so they can be moved when necessary.

In 2008, because of rapid growth in enrolment and demand for education, a donor from Canada provided funds for the purchase and installation of two additional portable classrooms. Portables are the preferred buildings for the school because although the land is leased, the city authorities could require the school to move to another location while the informal community is given more permanent homes. Portable classrooms are the property of the school and moveable.

In 2009 a further portable was purchased due to another donated grant through Classrooms for Africa. In the meantime as the school became more established, local businesses and community groups became involved in the school, providing gardens, walkways, playground shelter and ablutions facilities. Today Eagle's Nest has over 200 students from Nursery through Grade 4, and the demand is still increasing.

Funds for the portables were disbursed through ACSI South Africa and the project visited several times by C4A representatives and educators from Canada.
