Gateway Christian School is located in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu Natal Province of South Africa. The school facility is in the compound of Project Gateway, which has converted an old prison into a ministry centre run by a number of churches and charities in the area. The school is just one of Project Gateway's initiatives to meet the needs of the underpriviledged community in the surrounding area.

The school opened in January 1998 with grades 1-3, but today includes K through Grade 7, serving 350 students. More classrooms were desperately needed to house the classes

In April 2011 C4A provided a grant through a donor in Western Canada to build classrooms to replace the old temporary rooms the students were crowded into. Construction materials included concrete blocks, cement, steel for windows and doors and an iron roof.

The project moved ahead swiftly and by October 2011 the classrooms were complete and ready for occupation by students in grade 5 and 6!
