John Wycliffe Christian School in Cape Town, South Africa is located in an underpriviledged area. It offers Christian-based education to students in Kindergarten through Grade 7. Students come from a diverse background racially, economically and socially.
The school applied to Classrooms for Africa for some funds to help convert two containers on their property into a classroom. This space is now able to be used for an after-school facility for students. The containers were next to each other and the project involved joining them together by removing some walls and adding ceilings, floorings insulation and intruder security. The project was completed in 3 months by parents who volunteered their time and skills.
