Mt. Carmel Christian School is located in the Grace Community Fellowship Church in Howick and serves children from the local disadvantaged and AIDS-stricken population. Presently the lower grades have classroom space, but the grade 4 - 7 students occupy the church sanctuary and have dividers to separate grade levels. The plan is to add a classroom block, renovate the sanctuary into permanent classrooms and for the church to build a new sanctuary.

In 2008 C4A provided a grant through donations from member schools of ACSI Western Canada to build two classrooms next to the existing church. This would ease the pressure of a shared room for Grade 4 through 7 students.

Funds were disbursed in installments the through ACSI South Africa. A team of local builders constructed the classrooms providing work for the local people and much improved facilities for effective learning to take place.
