


Location:
Living Faith Christian School (LFCS) established in 1998, is situated in Mmbatho which was the former township area of Mafikeng in the province of North West near the Botswana border.
School information:
The school is operated by the Living Faith Church, which believes that Christian education is the key healing the past. The school is situated on the same property as the church. It serves 850 students in Kindergarten through Grade 9, the plan being to add a grade level each year until they reach grade 12. The school has had rapid growth and needs facilities for its youngest students. Living Faith has a strong academic emphasis and a vibrant music and drama program. It also has an extensive outreach program in the surrounding community called “Hand of Mercy” working with the elderly, abandoned children and the needy.
Building applied for:
The project applied for is an Early Childhood Learning Centre for up to 120 students consisting of four classrooms constructed of brick and metal roof.
Cost:
$35,000 requested - part of which the community will raise themselves in cash, materials and labour.
Disbursements:
Funds will be disbursed in installments as the building progresses, bu the ACSI South Africa office.
Status:
Project just approved, will start shortly.
