Location:
The Village of Hope in Mongu, south western Zambia was established to provide aid to children left destitute by AIDS in that part of the country. It provides mother-lead homes, education, health care and nutrition for these vulnerable children. The Village of Hope has centres in various parts of Africa, and is associated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC).
School information:
The Village of Hope school currently provides education for 80 students from pre-school through Grade 2. The demand to provide for the educational needs of the VOH children and also other children in the area is growing steadily. Currently the school shares a facility with an adult training centre, which is not ideal. The pressing need is for a separate school building.
