School information:
Hope Academy is part of the Village of Hope Kenya Ministries. The focus is to care for vulnerable children in the Kisumu area, many suffering from the fall out of the AIDS pandemic. The school provides primary education up to Grade 3 for just under 200 children in the Village of Hope and also the surrounding community. Apart from Hope Academy, the rural area does not have access to quality education.
Building applied for:
Presently the school uses a number of temporary iron sheet structures as classrooms. Plans are to build permanent facilities. Funds are needed now for building a multi-purpose hall which will be a central meeting place, provide classroom space and a kitchen area.
