


Location:
The school is located in a rural area of the Ruware District of Chiredzi in south-west Zimbabwe.
School information:
A church in Masvingo town, about 150 km away, was asked to start the school because there is no other educational option in the area. The local authorities gave the land and its existing building for the purpose of establishing the school. The local community has a very high level of commitment to the project and have already started building pit latrines on the property. The existing buildings, although in a poor state of repair, are suitable for renovation and conversion into classrooms.
Building applied for:
Application has been made to Classrooms for Africa for a grant to help fund the renovation and conversion of existing buildings into a total of six classrooms.
Cost:
An estimated $24,000 will be needed for the project, ($4,000 for each classroom).
Disbursements:
Funds will be disbursed through the ACSI South Africa office while educators from South Africa and Zimbabwe will keep track the building project and provide updates.
