Location:
Swakopmund Christian Academy is situated on land they own in the town of Swakopmund, originally a port serving what is now the country of Namibia. Swakopmund has a population of around 29,000 and is surrounded by desert.

School information:
The school was started in 1986 and offers Pre-school through Grade 10. Plans are to add Grade 11 and 12 when more facilities are built. The student body is multiracial and multicultural but the medium of instruction is English. Some students are from a disadvantaged background. Swakopmund Christian Academy is registered with the Namibian Ministry of Education and teaching is from a Christian world view. The school has an outreach program among the underpriveleged people in the area.

Building applied for:
Application was made to Classrooms for Africa for a grant to help cover the cost of building 2 classrooms. Building materials are mainly cement and wood.

Cost:
Expected cost will be $30,000 per classroom.

Disbursements:
Funds will be disbursed by the ACSI South Africa office.
